Basics of window tint & benefits:

Window tints are mainly used to help reduce solar heat gain by both reflecting and absorbing solar energy. They are made with a combination of polyesters, adhesives, ultraviolet inhibitors, and different types of metal coatings and dyes for various appearances and performances. Window tints are also used for glare control to help reduce eye strain by reducing visible light transmission and ultraviolet protection to reduce fading of floors, drapes, rugs, etc., and for protection against certain medical conditions. Window tints are also used to provide daytime privacy. These are several of the main benefits of residential window tinting.

Choosing the right window tint for your project:

The numbers following the names of our Nature View and SunMax film series represent the percentage of light that each film allows to pass through it. The lower the number the less light that passes through and therefore the darker the film. Darker films are better for heat reduction, glare reduction, and daytime privacy, so if any of these are your goals then you should go with a lower numbered film. Nature View 15 is our darkest film (aside from Blackout which, as its name implies, allows no light transmission and completely blacks out your window) and SunMax 70 is our lightest (aside from our Security Series which is completely transparent and intended solely to increase the security of your windows). We also offer Nature View 25 and 35 as two intermediate options for customers looking for heat or glare reduction with more visibility. We find that Nature View 15 is our most popular option, but feel free to contact us through the link at the bottom of the page and we will gladly answer any questions you have!

  • Window Tint & new window warranties:

Window tints can void warranties on new windows. Check your window mfg warranty for details. Numerous studies have been done on window tints in regard to window seal failure and the professional opinion is that seal failure is attributable to the quality of construction of the window itself.

  • Window Tint cleaning & care:

The Nature View series window tints take approximately 30 days to cure completely after installation. There are several factors that can extend this such as , weather, type of exposure, glass thickness, etc. Do not clean the window tint side until 30 days after installation. A rubber squeegee or microfiber towel is recommended for cleaning.
